Tomorrow, September 6, we’ll clean the benches and carpet in our auditorium beginning at 8:00 a.m. If you are planning to come, or if you have a carpet cleaner that could be used, please let Harley Brenneman know.

Tuesday, September 7 & Saturday, September 11 - Volleyball will be held at the Activities Building at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome!

Wednesday, September 8 Kid’s Night will meet at the church from 6:00-7:00 p.m. All kids in Pre-K through 5th Grades are welcome! A signup sheet for snacks is on the bulletin board.

Next Sunday, September 12th, the new Elder and Deaconess will be installed during the morning service.

Next Sunday, September 12th, everyone is invited to a picnic at Jeff Opel’s pavilion at 4:00 p.m. The meal will begin at 5:30 p.m.

The Big Valley Men’s Chorus will come from Allensville, PA to sing in our Sunday morning service on September 19. A special offering will be taken to support their mission project which is to purchase a radio for New Tribes Mission in Papua New Guinea Afterward they will join us for a fellowship meal in our church basement. This will take the place of the regularly scheduled fellowship meal on the first Sunday of September. Meat and potatoes will be provided, please bring several dishes of vegetables, salads or desserts to finish out the meal.

The youth will be having a hot dog roast at the church on September 25th at 6:00 p.m. along with Meadow Mountain’s youth. Hot dogs and drinks will be provided, please bring your favorite snack. If you have questions, contact Adam Opel or Ryan VanNosdeln.

The MCC TriState Relief Sale raised $63,300 this year, including $702 from the pancake and sausage booth run by Glade. Glade also contributed $417.31 to Penny Power.

If anyone in the congregation is interested in being a delegate to Allegheny Mennonite Conference, please contact Brent or Johnny.

Hospice of Garrett County will be conducting Fall volunteer training classes beginning September 7 and concluding October 12, 2010. Classes will be held Tuesdays, 6-9 p.m. at the Hospice office in Oakland. Anyone who is interested may contact Hospice of Garrett County at 301-334-5151 or in the Grantsville area, 1-800-521-5252.

The Maryland Salem Children’s Trust invites you to attend the annual OutSpokin’ Banquet and Silent Auction on Saturday, September 11 at the Wisp Resort. The Silent Auction begins at 5:00 p.m. and the banquet at 6:00. RSVP by September 1. For more information contact the church office.

Next Sunday a special offering will be taken in addition to the regular offering to be divided between Toby Maust and Danielle Opel.  They would both appreciate your continued prayer support and encouragement.

 

Toby is continuing his work with Rosedale Mennonite Missions as an intercessor at the Rosedale International Center (RIC), where REACH training now takes place as well as other mission oriented programs for youth and others.

Danielle will be attending a missions training program called “Calibrate”, sponsored by Rosedale Mennonite Missions.  She will be living and working in Columbus as a part of the program which encourages mission work throughout ordinary life.
