Relief Kits for Haiti
MCC is asking for donations of 20,000 relief kits as part of its response to the Haiti earthquake. Items need to be brought to the church by February 21st as MCC needs them before the 28th. The Women’s Friendship Group will be packing them and several ladies will be delivering them to an MCC drop-off location to be repackaged in a new 5-gallon plastic pail with a lid.
Contents (NEW items only):
q 4 large bars bath soap (leave in wrapping)
q 1 plastic bottle shampoo (13-24 oz.; place bottle in re-sealable plastic bag)
q 4 large bars of laundry soap (The Women’s Group has purchased several cases of these, so it is not necessary to purchase them.)
q 1 squeeze-tube toothpaste (minimum 6 oz.; leave in box)
q 4 adult-size toothbrushes (leave in packaging)
q 4 new bath towels (medium weight, dark or bright colors)
q 2 wide-tooth combs (6 to 8 inches)
q 1 fingernail clipper
q 1 box adhesive bandages (minimum 40, assorted)
q 1 package sanitary pads (18-24 thin maxi)
Items can be placed in the container at the back of the auditorium. If you prefer to give a monetary donation, place it in the offering clearly marked for “relief kits”.
